The college was founded on June 15th,
1989, previously named “Ging Chung Business College.” In the same
year, the five departments of the day school- Finance, International Trade,
Tourism, Business Administration, Accounting and Statistics Departments first
recruited day-school students. |

In July 1995, Night School
Division was established. The enrollment was open to students in Department of
Real Estate Management and Department of Information Management. In 1997, the
Division of Continuing and Extension Education was established. |

In March 2001, the fifth
Board of Trustees was set up, and Professor Song-Lin Chai took over as the
Board Chairman. On October 25th of the same year, the name of the college was
changed into “Taiwan Hospitality and Tourism College.” |

In the 2003 academic year,
new departments were set up, such as Department of Food and Beverage
Management, Department of Hotel Management, Department of Travel Management,
Department of Leisure Management, Department of Tourism Estate Management, and
Department of International Tourism Business. There are totally eight
departments including the original Department of Information Management and
Department of Applied Foreign Languages. |

In April 2004, we elected our
school president in public. Professor Ming-Huei Lee was elected, and he
formally took over as the president on August 1st, 2004. |

In the 2004 academic year,
supported by the Board of Trustees, we applied to the Ministry of Education for
future development of the college with a strong positioning toward professional
tourism-training college. Thus, we mainly put our emphasis on the four
departments-Department of Food and Beverage Management, Department of Hotel
Management, Department of Travel Management, and Department of Leisure
Management. Comparing to the student number in the 2003 academic year, the
number of the newly recruited students increased as expected. |

After receiving recognition by the Ministry of Education,
in the 2005 academic year, three new departments were set
up-Department of Chinese Culinary Arts, Department of Western Culinary Arts,
and Department of Tourism-Five-Year Division. We make every effort to present
the characteristics of professional vocational school of tourism in order to
meet the needs of our school and the society, that is, cultivating
professionals for tourism profession. |
